The Project Managerwill work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

Areas of responsibility:

1. Community Outreach:
-To approach community (reserve and urban areas) organizations, band councils, justice committees, etc...to collaborate on training and aftercare support related to reintegrating offenders;
- To coordinate staff visits to communities in Quebec, Ontario, Maritimes, Nunavik and Nunavut to develop strategies for reintegration of community members;

2. Community Worker Training:
-To coordinate community worker training sessions in conjunction with our Elders and helpers;
-To ensure appropriate resources are available for the training;

3. Annual Gathering:
- To assist in organizing an annual gathering for Elders, parole officers, community workers, etc... at a location outside Waseskun;
- To develop funding strategies to ensure the success of these gatherings;


All other duties as required.

Requested skills

Qualifications:

1.  Must have significant experience in different areas including event planning and working in team oriented environments, etc...

2.  Must have an understanding of Aboriginal realities;

3.  Must have proven organization and team work skills;

4.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;

5.  Must function as a member of the Waseskun team.
