ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

Lakeland Catholic School Division is seeking a full-time Assistant Administrative Secretary to support the daily operations of École Dr. Bernard Brosseau Middle School in Bonnyville, AB for the 2025-2026 school year.

Serving students in Grades 5 to 8, this position requires a professional who demonstrates warmth, discretion, accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced school office environment. The successful applicant will support front-office reception, administrative processes, and overall school operations while contributing to a welcoming and faith-centred atmosphere.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide front-office reception, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and care
  • Support the administrative team with clerical duties, including correspondence, scheduling, and file management
  • Process attendance and student information using division-approved systems
  • Prepare and distribute school communications and assist with document formatting and proofreading
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with division policies
  • Assist staff with photocopying, forms, office organization, and general school logistics
  • Contribute to the welcoming, organized, and efficient environment of a Catholic school setting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate or diploma in Office Administration (or equivalent education and/or experience)
  • Strong clerical, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with office software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms)
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Catholic education
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
  • Experience in a school or educational administrative setting
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool, PASI, or school-based administrative systems
  • First Aid certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain composed during high-volume or time-sensitive periods
  • French language skills are considered an asset but are not required
