What you will do
- Prepare review/compilation financial statements for private companies in accordance with professional standards and KPMG methodologies.
- Prepare working paper files for Canadian income tax and information returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, including bookkeeping tasks such as preparing or reviewing investment and account reconciliations.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized client files to support the timely preparation and filing of tax returns, schedules, and related deliverables.
- Ability to monitor and follow up on Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) notices of assessment and other correspondence, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and appropriately.
- A collaborate mindset with the ability to work within engagement teams, providing day-to-day support and contributing to efficient engagement execution and knowledge sharing.
What you bring to the role
- Accounting/business degree
- Working towards a CPA designation.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a similar role would be highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure managers are kept updated on file progression
- Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
- Strong time-management and ability to effectively manage multiple projects
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel skills required
- Previous use of Tax Prep and Caseware/Caseview programs would be beneficial
- Strong accounting foundation, including knowledge of ASPE and file documentation best practices

The selected candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain and simplify complex audit and reporting matters for diverse audiences. Proficiency in English is required, as the position involves communicating and delivering presentations to clients and stakeholders at KPMG Canada in English‑speaking regions of Canada.
