Join KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services team, where you will lead the delivery of controllership and finance operations support to clients across a range of industries. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who combines strong technical fundamentals with the ability to lead teams, oversee multiple engagements, and partner with senior client stakeholders to strengthen financial reporting and operational processes.
What you will do
- Lead the delivery of controllership and operational accounting services to private and public company clients across multiple industries
- Oversee bookkeeping, general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial close processes, ensuring high‑quality and timely outputs
- Review and provide guidance on the preparation of financial statements and reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, including planning, execution, risk identification, and delivery oversight
- Act as a primary point of contact for client finance leadership, providing practical guidance on accounting issues, close processes, and financial controls
- Identify opportunities to enhance finance processes, improve close efficiency, and strengthen internal controls, and support implementation of solutions
- Coach, develop, and review the work of Managers, and Senior Consultants, fostering a high‑performing team environment
- Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal support, client relationship expansion, and identifying new service opportunities
What you bring to the role
- Post-secondary degree required
- Canadian CPA designation, or hold an internationally recognized equivalent accounting designation per CPA Canada guidelines
- 8+ years’ professional experience, preferably in controllership, operational accounting, and financial reporting
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and/or ASPE, with the ability to apply guidance in a practical business context
- Proven experience managing engagements and leading teams in a client‑service or similar environment
- Experience working across multiple accounting systems and ERPs (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior finance leaders and non‑finance executives
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and drive results across multiple workstreams
- A pragmatic, solutions‑oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
KPMG Ontario Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $109,000 to $162,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
