Overview

At KPMG in Canada, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

We are looking for a high-performing Senior Consultant to join our growing Value Creation & Deal Strategy team in Montreal. You will support high-impact mandates at the intersection of strategy, performance improvement, transactions and technology-enabled transformation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, translating insights into practical value levers, and using data, digital tools and artificial intelligence to move from diagnostic to decision and execution. You will work with private equity firms, corporates and leadership teams to quantify value drivers, identify improvement opportunities, modernize ways of working, and help clients prioritize and mobilize initiatives that create measurable financial impact across revenue, margin, cash and risk.

What you will do

1) Value creation & transformation (standalone or post-deal)

  • Identify and quantify growth and performance improvement levers across commercial, operational and financial areas, with clear sizing logic, assumptions and value cases.
  • Support clients in moving from opportunity identification to action through initiative structuring, prioritization, roadmap design, governance and KPI / benefits tracking.
  • Contribute to transformation program monitoring, including milestones, risks, interdependencies and benefits realization across revenue, margin and cash.

2) Technology transformation & artificial intelligence

  • Assess how technology, automation and AI can improve business processes, decision-making, productivity, customer experience and operating model effectiveness.
  • Identify and prioritize practical AI use cases, including generative AI, analytics and intelligent automation, based on business value, feasibility, data readiness and risk.
  • Support the design of technology-enabled transformation roadmaps, linking business priorities to capabilities, processes, data, systems and operating model changes.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate research, analysis, synthesis, modeling and deliverable development while applying appropriate judgment, validation, confidentiality and governance practices.
  • Collaborate with technology, data, cyber, finance and operations teams to translate business requirements into executable transformation initiatives.

3) Analytics & modeling (turning data into decisions)

  • Build analytical models using Excel, Alteryx, Python and other relevant tools to quantify operational and financial drivers such as volume, pricing, cost-to-serve, productivity, capacity and working capital.
  • Clean, structure and analyze complex or messy datasets; create transparent methods and client-ready outputs with clear narratives.
  • Develop sensitivity, scenario and what-if analyses to support decision-making, investment cases and executive discussions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted analytics where appropriate to improve speed and insight generation, while validating outputs and maintaining traceability of assumptions.

4) Client delivery & team contribution

  • Participate in client interviews and workshops; synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, executive-ready deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across strategy, finance, operations, technology and data.
  • Contribute to practice building through proposal support, thought leadership, reusable templates and tools, and internal capability development, including AI-enabled ways of working.

5) Strategy & commercial due diligence

  • Assess investment theses by analyzing industry dynamics, market attractiveness, competitive positioning, customer economics and key risks.
  • Build fact bases covering market sizing, growth outlook, segmentation, pricing and share dynamics, and translate findings into deal-relevant implications including upside, downside and sensitivities.
  • Support workstreams on value drivers, synergies, technology opportunities and operational improvement under tight timelines.

What you bring to the role

Core qualifications
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, advisory, technology or digital transformation, analytics / BI, or a data-driven operational role.
