We are currently accepting applications for entry into our vice-principal candidate pool (elementary and secondary)! As a dynamic and dedicated educator, you will work with faculty, support staff, students, parents, and the communities in Northwestern Ontario to provide an excellent education in a learner-centered environment that prepares each student to be a successful individual and a responsible member of society.

Candidates who are accepted into the pool can expect:

  • school or system-level instructional leadership opportunities
  • networking opportunities with other aspiring leaders in the organization
  • professional development (provided at no cost)
  • access to subsidies to complete Principals Qualification Program
  • mentoring
  • opportunities to make a difference for staff and students within your school community

Ideal candidates for this pool would have the following:

  • ability to maintain a strong focus on student success, achievement and well-being
  • Understanding of Indigenous perspectives, histories, and pedagogies, with the ability to incorporate Indigenous content and approaches into school leadership, curriculum, and school culture
  • ability to create/maintain a positive and inclusive school climate and learning environment for students
  • ability to complete the Principals Qualification Program
  • ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to demonstrate an understanding of Board strategic priorities
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with conflicts
  • a minimum of five years teaching experience
