Description
The Engineer has the responsibility for carrying out and managing projects for the design, improvement and development of diamond products. He(she) is also responsible for monitoring the needs of customers and the internal network of salespeople and technicians to support business development. He(she) is responsible for developing new products according to established priorities.
Role and main responsibilities (These are not limited to the following)
- Conceive drawings and designs in CAD. Develop programs for CNC machines and create work methods in the ERP system.
- Support the production department and sales in solving problems during product manufacturing.
- Support the sales department in its approach with customers.
- Support the quality department in the analysis of internal or external non-conformities.
- Create Jigs and fixtures design.
- Testing and monitoring machinery to make sure it is in good working order and can operate safely.
- Installing new equipment to improve a company’s manufacturing processes.
- Design new equipment or operational procedures.
- Troubleshooting machines to resolve breakdowns or faults.
- Gathering data and compiling reports to assess the effectiveness of manufacturing procedures.
- Undertake special projects as required.
- May be involved in the SR&ED credit and grant applications.
