A fast-growing technology company specializing in the Internet of Things (IoT) is seeking an experienced leader to oversee its engineering function and support the development of innovative products for international markets.

We are looking for a leader who combines strong engineering management experience with hands-on technical expertise in electronic product development, embedded systems, or firmware development. This individual will play a critical role in building a world-class engineering organization and accelerating the development of new connected products.

Your Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Technology, you will be responsible for the performance, growth, and evolution of the engineering team. Your primary mandate will be to build and scale a high-performing engineering organization capable of successfully developing and commercializing innovative IoT products.

Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) – Primary Mandate
  • Lead engineering teams in the development and launch of innovative IoT products that support customer needs and company growth objectives.
  • Establish world-class product development processes, procedures, tools, and best practices.
  • Build a high-performing engineering organization focused on technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and product teams to ensure development priorities align with strategic business objectives.
Leadership & Management
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and managers.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and execution capacity management.
  • Oversee the engineering project portfolio and departmental budgets.
  • Work closely with product, quality, and operations teams to ensure successful product launches and achievement of business goals.

Requested skills

Profile Sought
  • University degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electronic product development.
  • Significant hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, firmware development, or embedded systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally including managers or technical leaders.
  • Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and full product lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of connected products, embedded systems, and IoT technologies.
  • Ability to build, structure, and scale a high-performing engineering organization in a growth environment.
  • Strong leadership skills combined with high technical credibility.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is considered an asset.
