Role Description

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, as a Service Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the after-sales service group in order to meet customer needs and study the causes of failure of vehicles produced by the company. company and work with the engineering team to find effective solutions.

In your daily life, you will have to:

  • Provide diagnostic procedures to technicians and customers to limit vehicle downtime and improve the reliability of our product;
  • Create and improve diagnostic tools;
  • Master the operation of vehicles and understand the need for use of the products by our customers;
  • Propose solutions to mitigate short and/or long term problems;
  • Master the electrical infrastructure of our vehicles in order to support the teams;
  • Analyze data from vehicles in order to propose corrective actions;
  • Work in collaboration with other engineering departments to improve the reliability of our vehicles;
  • Implement correction and modification tracking plans;
  • Review and approve recalls and service bulletins;
  • Design electrical plans;
  • Any other related stains.

Training and Experience

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering;
  • 5 years of relevant experience (preferably in the transportation industry);
  • Experience in interpreting technical drawings and electrical diagrams;
  • Experience with CAN bus and “diagnostic trouble code” (DTC) analysis;
  • Experience with software for CAN analysis (Canalyser, PiSnoop or equivalent);
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data and diagnostics.

Two positions are to be filled as an electrical engineer:

  • The first position is available for a person with between 3 and 5 years of experience related to the position;
  • The second position is available for a person with more than 5 years of experience related to the position.
  • This position is face-to-face 3 days per week or more, depending on business needs.

What you need to succeed in this position

Awareness

  • Knowledge of electric vehicles or high voltage architectures;
  • Knowledge of automobile mechanics, an asset;
  • Knowledge of software: OpenECU, Iqan Design, CATIA electrical system design, an asset;
  • Advanced skills with MS Office suite.
  • Good written and oral communication skills (French and English);
  • This position requires intermediate or advanced knowledge of English, spoken and written on a daily basis, in order to communicate with suppliers and colleagues located outside of Quebec.
