We are looking for a Quality Supervisor to join our Quality Department.

Job summary

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Quality Analyst group to carry out daily product quality checks, product surveillance plans and to determine whether products should be released for delivery or held back for technical quality reasons. The supervisor manages operations related to the inspection of finished products in the “CARE” section and determines its processes and performance points.

Your main roles :

  • Supervise a team of quality analysts responsible for analyzing questionable products;
  • Reduce the quantity of non-conforming products by identifying root causes. Contribute to finding and implementing appropriate corrective actions;
  • Ensure proper integration of product surveillance plans into production;
  • Plan internal inspection activities and follow up on external inspection work;
  • Participate in and complete projects to improve quality processes and manufacturing procedures;
  • Follow-up on supplier non-compliance;
  • Improve the performance of quality-related indicators (KPIs);
  • Use problem-solving principles such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5why, Poka-yoke, etc;
  • Contribute to the development of a quality culture at all levels of the organization;
  • Audit manufacturing processes and other necessary audits;
  • All other related tasks.

Requested skills

  • College degree in production engineering, metallurgy or other field or relevant experience;
  • 7 years' experience in a quality-related position in a unionized manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in a supervisory role an asset;
  • Practical expertise in problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes (“lean” management, etc.);
  • Inborn sense of teamwork, good leadership skills, autonomy in decision-making, good analytical and synthesizing skills;
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 an asset;
  • Bilingual French-English spoken, read and written. Bilingualism is required, as the incumbent will have to communicate and make presentations to our corporation, which is located in the United States.
