What you will do:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer who will play a critical role in the VAVE initiatives within our OEM equipment manufacturing division. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day projects aimed at enhancing product value, optimizing performance, and reducing costs. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review performance components, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), and implement innovative design solutions.
Provide drafting and design support to the Equipment Design Engineering department ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and project requirements.
THIS ROLE WILL BE FOCUSED ON A 2 YEAR PROJECT (SEPTEMBER 2027)
How you will do it:
Utilize PTC Creo 9 to prepare detailed 3D models and drawings for mechanical systems.
Draft and design mechanical parts, piping layouts, and sheet metal assemblies.
Read and interpret engineering specifications, creating both 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize product designs.
Develop engineering changes and resolve any design issues that arise during the development process.
Conduct independent research to troubleshoot problems with engineering, manufacturing, and vendors.
Generate Bill of Materials for assigned projects.
Work on Engineering Change Order (ECR) assigned.
Periodic inspection of the assigned unit on the production floor to ensure product is built to the specification provided.
Required:
Technical/associate degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
Ideal candidate possesses experience in both mechanical and electrical fields.
Proficient knowledge of 3D design software, specifically PTC Creo 9.
Understand industry standards, codes, and practices relevant to design.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data center equipment is a plus
