Position Summary
Interior Health is looking for a Technology Systems Purchasing and Refresh Analyst to join the team on a full time relief basis from our Kelowna location.

This position does offer a flexible work location, but must be within commuting distance of Kelowna as there is requirement to go in to the office for 1-2 days bi weekly.

About the job:
In accordance with the vision and values of the organization, the Technology Systems Purchasing and Refresh Analyst participates in the evaluation, planning, purchasing, development, implementation, testing, maintenance and support of desktop, mobile, peripheral and hand-held computer systems throughout the Interior Health Authority. This position will execute and finalize purchasing and procurement strategies for technological spending and provide technical consultative support and training to end-users and departmental staff within Interior Health, where appropriate. This includes facilitating communication between the enterprise and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to plan.

Typical duties and responsibilities:
• Conducts and/or participates in the evaluation of technologies, reviews all DH hardware purchase/lease requisitions, and consults with departments from various sites regarding requirements, e.g. specifications, quantity, quality, pricing and delivery dates. Recommends suppliers and/or substitute suppliers to improve delivery and costs.
• Completes purchase orders, work orders, and other acquisition and delivery related documents and ensures internal budget approvals are in place prior to ordering equipment or services. Reconciles equipment orders/returns. Validates the receipt of system services or supplies by outside supplies or contractors.
• Coordinates tasks to ensure service levels are met for purchases/leases by methods such as monitoring outstanding tickets, escalating where appropriate, and intervening to resolve customer service issues.
• Works with key business partners to address all incidents concerning early lease returns, equipment buyouts, and stolen equipment or non-warranty issues and provides satisfactory customer resolution.
• Maintains reports and records, collects statistics and information on purchases, project activity, and quality improvement on a scheduled or requested basis.
• Develops and maintains asset reporting systems, stock/inventory control systems, and maintains configuration management processes for all assets and inventory. Controls/updates inventory content and levels of materials and supplies by conferring with user departments and other sources regarding requirements. Determines items no longer in demand and establishes and/or revises optimum reorder points and quantities to ensure timely replacement of equipment.
• Works with the Contracted Vendor/BCCSS provided planning and deployment tools to summarize equipment and software orders. Provides technical requirements for refresh events and creates work orders using the tool to initiate the technology refresh and other installation and prerequisite events.
• Develops, implements, and maintains user and technical operating documentation, procedures, and guidelines for DH purchasing and desktop and mobile computing hardware and software. Provides training to IT technical personnel and end-users by planning, coordinating, and preparing instructional materials.
• Works closely with BCCSS and service vendors to ensure a healthy, ongoing relationship that leads to satisfactory resolution of problems and concerns.
• Maintains working knowledge of current tools and techniques used in the information technology environment by methods such as researching on the Internet, reviewing technical journals and industry related materials, meeting with vendors, and identifying and planning for the impacts of future change.
• Travels when required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 12, graduation from a recognized two year computer systems technology diploma plus three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
