Position Summary
Vernon Jubilee Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard Operator | Registration Clerk to join their team in Vernon, BC!

This position works rotating days, evenings and nights 06:00 to 14:00, 07:00 to 15:00, 09:00 to 14:00, 08:30 to 16:30, 11:00 to 17:00, 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00, 23:59 to 07:59

What Will You Work On?
This position operates the switchboard, public address and paging systems accepting and directing calls from a variety of customers according to established policies, standards and procedures; receives and directs patients and visitors; registers patients; responds to and monitors hospital alarms and emergency codes; maintains physician on-call/vacation lists; and performs a variety of clerical duties related to receiving and registering of patients, identifying bed booking options, and cashier functions.

Qualfications
Education, Training & Experience:
Grade 12, two year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m. or greater, dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (non-supervised tests are not accepted)
Knowledge of medical terminology
