Position Summary
Join Our Recreation Therapy Team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC!
About the Role
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you'll play an important role in enhancing the quality of life of residents by delivering engaging recreation and leisure programs that promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. Working as a valued member of the interdisciplinary care team, you'll implement established recreation therapy programs that encourage participation, foster meaningful connections, and support a client-centred approach to care.
In this hands-on role, you'll lead individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, cooking, gardening, exercise, sports, and community outings. You'll adapt programs to meet the unique needs and abilities of residents, assist with special events, support residents in participating safely and confidently, and observe and report changes to the care team. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and compassionate approach will help create meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of those you serve every day.
Position Details
This is a casual day shift position and when scheduled, shift times will be 08:30 to 16:30. Employees in this role are eligible to apply for internal postings for permanent part-time or full-time positions, with many career paths at Interior Health starting from relief positions and evolving into regular employment opportunities.
