Position Summary
Interior Health’s Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) team has an immediate permanent, full time Occupational Therapist opening. Days of work are rotating 09:00 to 17:30 hours.

This position is part of the Youth Intensive Case Management (ICM) Team. The ICM Team is an interdisciplinary team that supports youth ages 12 to 24 who are experiencing significant substance use concerns. They may also be experiencing mental health concerns and functional challenges. The team provides outreach and case management supports and work is based at the Kelowna Foundry. This community-based service offers low barrier outreach services to meet youth where they are at, without judgement. The ICM Team works with clients to meet immediate needs and connect youth with supports and services to improve health and meet wellness goals.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be supporting the Interior Health based team, in addition to some support for Kelowna’s Foundry. The role will include occupational therapy formal and functional assessment, early intervention, activation and case management with an OT lens. Days of Work follow a rotational schedule where four Saturdays are worked in ten. Local travel is required within this role in the surrounding area. Access to personal vehicle will be required; a valid Driver’s License is necessary.

Professional Occupational Therapy practice is supported at multiple levels, including the Youth Team and the Occupational Therapy Professional Practice Leader, with operational oversight from an Allied Health Manager. Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
