Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary
Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time (0.70 FTE) Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist in Kelowna, BC.

This Nurse Practitioner's (NP) focus is older adult patients with acute, sub - acute and complex chronic care needs who have been admitted to the Kelowna General Hospital's Hospitalist Program. In this position, the NP will assume the role of MRP (Most Responsible Provider) and performs pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations, manages clinical care, performs procedures, orders and reviews diagnostic studies, orders and monitors medications, and participates in short-term and long-term planning of patient care. The NP joins members of the inter-professional team in coordinating the transitions in care. A high level of autonomy is expected along with collaboration, consultation and referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team. There is no on call requirements for this position.

This position will also have a new and exciting post graduate nurse practitioner residency program. Interior Health offers a residency program for NPs in the province, which will be key to supporting the development of NPs and practice-readiness in select programs.

Salary range for the position is $141,494 - $155,643. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant.

Qualfications
Education, Training, and Experience:
• Current registration and exam-qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
• Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
