Description
Position Summary
Interior Health is looking for a term specific part time (0.5 FTE) Nurse Practitioner until June 30, 2025 or until the return of the incumbent in Kelowna, BC.
This Nurse Practitioner's (NP) focus is older adult patients with sub - acute and complex chronic care needs who have been admitted to Kelowna General Hospitalist Program. In this position, the NP performs pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations, manages clinical care, performs procedures, orders and reviews diagnostic studies, orders and monitors medications, and participates in short-term and long-term planning of patient care. The NP joins members of the inter-professional team in coordinating the transitions in care. A high level of autonomy is expected along with collaboration, consultation and referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team.
Qualfications
Education, Training & Experience
• Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
• Two years Nurse Practitioner clinical experience. Recent acute care experience is an asset.
• Strong general medicine/geriatric skills.
