Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Medical Laboratory Department at Golden & District Hospital in Golden, BC. About the Job
The Golden & District Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the East Kootenay health service area. Located in Golden, east central B.C., the hospital offers services including laboratory, inpatient, obstetrics, and emergency.
Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.
This is a Project Full Time (1.00) opportunity until July 1, 2026.

Qualfications
• Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program, plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Canadian Driver’s License as required by position
• Ability to type 25 WPM *5 minute invigilated typing test dated within the past 48 months from an approved institution. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
