Medical Lab Technologist | $10k signing bonus!

Position Summary
Grow your Laboratory career in the stunning Kootenay Rockies region! We have a full-time Core Lab Medical Laboratory Technologist opportunity now available at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) in Trail, B.C. This position works a rotation that includes days, evenings and night shifts. Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage rate will be $36.69 - $45.70 per hour.

With this opportunity comes eligibility for a $10,000 signing bonus as well as a generous relocation allowance for new applicants seeking to join Interior Health.

About the job:

MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the assigned discipline department. Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
• Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
• Validating and reporting test results
• Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents
• Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs

About this location:

KBRH is a 75 bed acute care site in the Kootenay Boundary health service area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services. Located in Trail, between Grand Forks and Nelson, KBRH offers services including core physician specialties, 24 hour emergency and trauma services, Level 2 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care, psychiatry, and chemotherapy.

Community Profile: Trail is nestled between the glorious Monashee and Selkirk mountains on the banks of the Columbia River, approximately 10 km north of the US border. The area is surrounded by nature and offers many family friendly amenities and a variety of retail, businesses and services.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BCSLS and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
