Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $32.84 to $41.35.

About the Job:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a PERMANENT PART-TIME (0.55 FTE) OPPORTUNITY.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 07:30 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this location/unit:

The Pavilion at the Slocan Community Health Centre, located in New Denver, is a residential facility attached to the 24/7 Emergency Unit and physicians' offices. Our resident-centred philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible. The facility is one storey with six private rooms and 10 semi-private (double occupancy) rooms with stunning views of the mountains and lake. Our Recreational Program Coordinator is on site 5 days/week as well as a Rehabilitation Assistant on site for walking, balance and strength classes. The Physiotherapist and occupational therapist see residents regularly as needed as well and we have a van on site for outings with the residents.

Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Current CPR certification required.
