FOOD SERVICE WORKER II

Position Summary
Invermere District Hospital is looking for a Permanent Part Time Food Service Worker II to join their team! The successful candidate must be reliable and have a flexible schedule to work a rotating schedule (will include some weekends and holidays as required)

The Permanent Part Time shift of this position include the following hours:
Days - 08:30 to 16:30
This is a Float position. This position is subject to rotation change: Employee could be moved 2 hours before start time or 2 hours after start time.
This position may qualify for employer paid extended health, dental, and pension benefits after 6 months.

What Will You Work On?
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position may perform a variety of duties within the food services operation, such as checking meal trays against patient menus to ensure accuracy of food and beverage items; reheating of meal service items according to predetermined temperatures and times; receiving supplies and checking goods received against invoices; washing dishes, pots, pans and utensils; taking cash/ preparing and verifying daily float and setting up and delivering meal carts. Other duties may include measuring and combining food and beverage ingredients by procedures such as grinding, blending and slicing and preparing and portioning out therapeutic diet items.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 10, plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
