Position Summary
Interior Health is hiring a permanent full-time Coordinator | Psychological Health and Safety who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare.
Location: This position is flexible within the Interior Health Region.
This is a new role on a new team and there will be lots of opportunity to innovate and create new processes and reports and there will be opportunity to collaborate with internal and provincial partners on new resources for Psychological Health and Safety. There will also be an opportunity for this role to present and facilitate on topics related to Psychological Health and Safety. The new Psychological Health and Safety team offers a supportive and welcoming team environment. There will also be future opportunities to travel a little around the health authority.

Salary range for the position is $62,239 to $89,469. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How will you create an impact:
The Coordinator, Psychological Health and Safety (Coordinator) plays a critical role in planning and organizing the operations of key initiatives within the Psychological Health and Safety team. The Coordinator develops and maintains standard work, program materials and other resources, facilitates related communications throughout the organization, supports applicable improvement initiatives, and coordinates trainings and workshops related to psychological health and safety as appropriate. The Coordinator establishes effective working relationships with internal and external partners; supports education and initiative-specific deliverables; and takes responsibility for the overall management of tracking, evaluating, monitoring, and reporting processes as required.
The Coordinator is responsible for and providing operational support for various psychological health and safety initiatives, including evaluation, communication, reporting, and other duties as required. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the reporting and maintenance of information to support the overall business of the department along with technical support to the systems that support psychological health and safety.
The Coordinator will be required to collaborate with both internal and external partners in the development of Psychological Health and Safety implementation plans and practices related to the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (CSA Z-1003-13). This work is framed within Health Authority commitments to Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and equity, diversity, and inclusion.
What will you work on:
• Coordinates Human Resources (HR) and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) information-management functions ensuring processing efficiencies, audit controls, and appropriate reporting practices. Manages the filing of key Psychological Health and Safety team documents and resources.
• Supports the development of project and program implementation plans and evaluation in accordance with CSA Z-1003-13, the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
• Provides advice to Manager and team on Psychological Health and Safety (PHS) work efforts and initiatives by collecting and analyzing data points from multiple sources, preparing reports, and presenting the findings to leadership teams to address concerns, respond to questions, and recommend options for improvement.
• Provides critical analysis and evaluation of data by creating and manipulating spreadsheets and reporting data back to staff for review and correction where applicable.
• Prepares data/reports as assigned for contract and compliance. Creation of quarterly reports for the Psychological Health and Safety Steering Committee.
• Ensures compliance or tracking is met for WorkSafeBC requirements and provincial standards.
• Collaborates by providing guidance to Employee Relations, Employee Experience, Retention, Employee Health and Wellness and Managers on complex information-management matters relating to Psychological Health and Safety.
• Represents the department and acts as a liaison with internal and provincial partners to respond to requests for information and data related to Psychological Health and Safety.
• Develops, processes, and implements automation of systems to increase efficiencies.
• Participates on working groups and committees and represents the Health Authority as required.
• In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience
• Degree or diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years related experience including a thorough knowledge of recruitment and benefit issues and practices in the healthcare industry.
• Coordinator experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• CHRP designation is considered an asset.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to coordinate and administrate HR/WHS information-management functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial factors impacting personal well-being and organizational health, as outlined in the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
• Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, particularly in change initiatives.
• Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and allocate resources to accomplish project plan objectives.
• Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation, policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to write or edit high quality business documents (e.g., project plans, risk management plans, marketing or communication plans, progress reports, project wrap-up documentation).
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of computer technology, especially the fundamentals of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and cloud databases.
• Ability to work effectively, independently and in collaboration with others.
• Proficiency in operating related computer software applications.
