Circuit Rider Trainer in Fire Safety – Inspector

This position is 40 hours per week

Your mandate will be to act as a specialist in fire risk and disaster prevention, as well as to develop fire prevention programs (FPPs) in First Nations communities in Quebec. 

In collaboration with the fire safety team, you will bring your expertise to First Nations communities in Quebec to support them in fire prevention efforts. 
 

• Conduct inspections of residential, institutional, and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with fire safety standards  

• Assess risks related to fires and hazardous materials  

• Prepare and design evacuation plans and develop emergency response programs  

• Train officers, firefighters, and prevention officers in their duties and responsibilities related to fire prevention  

• Support communities in determining the causes and circumstances of fires  

• Develop and oversee prevention programs tailored to local needs  

• Attestation of College Studies (ACS) or Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in fire prevention  

• Availability to travel 18 to 24 weeks per year to First Nations communities across Quebec (maximum of 5 days on-site)  

• Excellent communication skills both in French and English, spoken and written  

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence  

• Fire Officer I certification (asset)  

• Certificate in Advanced Fire Prevention Technologies (AFPT; asset)
