Manager/Senior Manager – Cross Border Tax

Our client is the largest specialized cross-border individual tax firm in Vancouver, and they are seeking an experienced Cross-Border Tax professional to join the firm at either the Manager or Senior Manager level.

About Our Client
This boutique firm focuses entirely on tax planning and compliance for US/Canadian cross-border individual clients and their families. This is a well-established firm with long-standing client relationships and a committed partnership group.

About the Opportunity
As a Cross Border Tax Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of US and Canadian tax compliance for a range of clientele. You will work directly with your clients and foster strong relationships so that you can anticipate their changing needs and provide timely advice. You will also assist with planning work, taking on more complex files as you progress with the firm, and assist junior and other senior accountants. Further aspects of the role would include, but not be limited to:

  • Review and management of the completion of individual tax returns, 50% CDN, 50% US
  • Dealing with a range of clients, including high-net-worth US citizens living in Canada
  • Review, Planning, and Research of US and Cross-Border tax issues
  • Corresponding with the CRA and IRS as needed
  • Working directly with clients
  • Assisting and mentoring a team of dedicated accountants

Requirements

  • Designated Canadian or US CPA
  • Enrolled Agent designation is an asset
  • Experience in US tax
  • 5+ years cross-border individual tax experience

Compensation

  • Salary: 85,000 - $110,000 + (negotiable as Senior Manager)
  • Extended medical coverage
  • Three weeks’ vacation
  • Paid overtime
