Litigation Legal Assistant – Insurance Defence

Join a Highly Respected Boutique Litigation Firm. Impact Recruitment has partnered with a well-established boutique litigation firm in Downtown Vancouver to hire a Litigation Legal Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team supporting a busy insurance defence practice while working alongside experienced legal professionals in a respected litigation firm.

Compensation

• $60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation files from opening through closing
• Draft pleadings, application records, books of authorities, appeal records, and appeal books
• Prepare legal correspondence and other documentation
• File documents with court registries
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and third parties
• Maintain BF limitation dates and other critical deadlines
• Provide administrative support to a busy Partner and Associate
• Prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications
Required:

• Minimum 3 years of litigation legal assistant experience, supporting at least 2 lawyers
• Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) Certificate
• Strong civil litigation experience
• Knowledge of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word
• Willingness to work 5 days per week in-office during the first 3 months of probation

Preferred:

• Insurance Defence litigation experience
• Third-party Insurance Defence experience
• ICBC experience
• Experience with ProLaw
