About The Opportunity
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting the pre-construction and project delivery teams by preparing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates. This position requires a solid understanding of commercial construction methods, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
About The Position
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including tenant improvements, renovations, and new builds.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive quantity take-offs and scope breakdowns.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing; manage tendering process from invitation to award.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop accurate budgets, schedules, and bid proposals.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and assess cost impacts of design alternatives.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as required.
- Maintain an organized database of historical costs, vendor/supplier relationships, and project documentation.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoffs to ensure smooth transitions to project teams.
- Stay informed on current market conditions, industry trends, and changes in material/labour costs.
- Support business development and client relationships by providing timely and professional estimating services.
The Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience in an Estimating position working on Commercial Projects.
- Experience in producing budgets for repeat clients.
- Qualification in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
- Performance related bonus
