ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is looking for someone who is genuinely interested in using technology to advance the practice, who loves to work hard and keep busy, and who works well under time pressures. Although this will be a busy role, our client does want you to have a good time whilst carrying out your day-to-day duties. ABOUT THE POSITION
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with clients and opposing counsel for the collection, review and production of documents
- Drafting routine correspondence
- Reviewing documents and coding for relevance and privilege
- Preparing pleadings, including;
- Form F8 Financial Statements
- Affidavits
- Notices of Applications
- Lists of Documents
- Reviewing and preparing transcript summaries
- Assisting Lawyers with all aspect of trial preparations.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience with a specialty in Family Law
- A Legal Administrative Assistant certificate and/or Paralegal diploma
- Comprehensive understanding of the BC Supreme Court Rules and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of Family Law Act
- Experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and DivorceMate
- Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Meticulous attention to detail and desire to provide quality work with a high level of accuracy;
- Excellent judgement and the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
- High client service orientation
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently, take initiative and be resourceful
- Proficiency in file organization and time management
- The ability to work overtime if required
COMPENSATION
- $70,000 - $95,000
