About the Client
Based in Langley, our client is an established organization seeking to add an experienced Controller to their team. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA with over 7 years of relevant experience.
About the Position
Reporting to the general manager, the controller will be responsible for full cycle accounting, some of the duties include but aren’t limited to:
- Oversee a team of 2 to 3 staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Manage all financial aspects of the organization, including financial reporting, payment calculations for producers and transporters, internal operations, budgeting, audits, and IT systems.
- Provide financial insight and policy interpretation to the General Manager and Board.
- Oversee and streamline accounting policies and procedures and coordinate year-end audits.
- Strengthen internal controls and oversee the system implementation from Sage to Business Central.
- Respond to inquiries from industry stakeholders, board members, and the General Manager.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring payments to producers and transporters are accurate.
- Develop business continuity plans and succession strategies for key operational areas.
- Support other departments with financial and operational data for project planning and analysis.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Designated CPA
- 7+ accounting experience
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Public practice experience is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 to $130,000
- Extended health and dental benefits.
- 3 to 4 weeks’ vacation.
- Pension plan - upto 8% matching
- Hybrid work schedule: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.
