A leading insurance provider in Vancouver is seeking a talented Commercial Lines Development Manager to join their team and lead their underwriting operations in British Columbia and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage commercial lines underwriting operations in alignment with the client's vision and strategy.
  • Develop, communicate, implement, and monitor the region’s annual business plan to drive profitability and growth.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with brokers through various initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the corporate team to ensure products and services meet market needs.
  • Direct and assist staff in underwriting complex risks and provide ongoing training and development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory/management experience.
  • Previous leadership role as a Commercial Lines Supervisor or Manager.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or higher.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of commercial underwriting experience with exposure to business development, sales, and marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Commitment to continuous educational improvement.
