NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE - Chemotherapy
Primary Site: Stratford
Temporary Part-Time
REPORTS TO: Manager, Regional Pharmacy and Chemotherapy
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BLS required
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provincial Standardized Course
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent clinical experience (minimum 2 years) in Critical Care, Emergency, Chemotherapy and/or Medicine preferred
- Experience administering chemotherapy and/or nursing in the oncology area preferred
ABILITIES:
- Ability to perform venepuncture, blood transfusion, assist physician with medical procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in central line management and vascular access devices an asset
- Participates in annual upgrades in oncology nursing skills and certification courses
- Ability to plan, prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates respectful behaviour and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications preferred
- Ability to provide patient/family education and emotional support
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Preferred Training:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or recognized equivalent
- Certified Oncology Nursing Certificate CON (C)
- DeSouza Oncology certification
