POSITION: CHARGE TECHNOLOGIST - Anatomical Pathology
Primary Site: Stratford
Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: A work leader who has superior theoretical and technical knowledge at an advanced level in Anatomical Pathology. They are in charge of the Pathology Department to the extent that they are responsible to the Laboratory Administration for the efficient functioning of all technical aspects of the Pathology Department and ensure the reliability of all test results issued from that section. Additionally, the Charge Technologist is responsible for fulfilling duties related to the IHLP Regional Laboratory Program

REPORTS TO: Manager, Laboratory HPHA

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $43.36 to $54.66 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
- Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in all lab areas
- BSc. and/or ART relevant to Anatomical Pathology preferred or; Completion of a recognized Clinical Laboratory and/or Quality Management program

Experience:
- Five or more years of current progressive Professional experience in an acute care Hospital Lab setting, specifically in the area of Anatomical Pathology
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferred
- Membership in applicable professional organizations (e.g. CAP-ACP)

Abilities:
- Multitasking skills to include the following:
o Ability to conduct meetings
o Ability to solve problems of an analytical or technical nature
o Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
o Ability to supervise the technical and non-technical staff
o Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory test results
o Ability to deliver presentations to various audiences
o Ability to interact effectively with other departments
o Ability to interact effectively with information systems
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
