NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Clinical Resource Nurse

Full-Time permanent Position 37.5hrs weekly

Monday-Friday with flexibility & on-call responsibilities.

COMPENSTION: Salaried position $74,464 - $97,410

POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the interprofessional collaborative team within a residential hospice setting, the Clinical Resource nurse (CRN) is responsible for coordinating and implementing resources to enable the clinical care team to provide exceptional palliative care. The CRN supports the development of the clinical care team, fostering empowerment through knowledge, to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidence-based practice within the hospice.

REPORTS TO: Director of Resident Care (DRC)

DATE REQUIRED: Position will remain posted until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registration without restriction as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Completion of Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care and Advanced Fundamentals.
  • Completion of Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE.)
  • Learning Essentials Applications to Palliative Care (LEAP) an asset.
  • Current Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Nursing Certificate (CHPCN) an asset.
  • Safe Food Handling course an asset, or willingness to obtain at employee’s expense during the probationary period.
  • Current CPR training and willingness to re-certify as required. Required at employee’s expense prior to orientation.

    EXPERIENCE: -

    • Three (3) years of recent palliative care experience; experience in a hospice residence setting or a palliative unit/community assignment, preferred
    • Experience coordinating and implementing resources to support a clinical team
    • Leadership experience supporting a team
    • Experience in Quality Improvement and program evaluation

      REQUIREMENTS:

      • Two Step TB test and Vulnerable Sector Check

      ABILITIES:

      • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
      • Computer literate and able to work with Microsoft Suite
      • Knowledge of Point Click Care documentation system an asset.
