Description
It is anticipated that a 0.3 FTE Permanent Library Technician position will be available immediately at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Dashwood. The initial schedule will be Tuesday to Thursday, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The hourly rate of pay begins at $25.25 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining an effective library system that facilities searching, cataloging, and inventory control
Assisting with library orientation for students under the direction of the classroom teacher
Working with individuals or small groups of students under the direction of a teacher to provide support with library resources
Assisting teachers and students to resolve minor problems with computer lab equipment located in the resource center
Preparing bibliographies and select resources materials to support classroom activities as requested by teachers
Conducting annual inventory of resource materials and equipment
Along with other staff members, supervising students while on yard duty
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a Library Technician and Information Diploma
- Ability to take initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and administration
- Strong computer skills, especially within Google Workspace
