Manager of Finance
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Manager of Finance. Reporting to the Superintendent of Business & Treasurer, this position provides leadership and supervision to the finance team in support of the Board's mission, vision and strategic priorities. As a key contact for the Finance department the Manager is responsible to oversee all fiscal operations providing financial goals and management of budgets while ensuring compliance with Ministry funding requirements and public sector accounting standards. This position works closely with all corporate departments, school administrators and other budget managers. This permanent, full-time position works twelve (12) months per year from the Catholic Education Centre in Dublin, Ontario.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively supervise and lead all finance functions including but not limited to A/P, A/R, school generated funds, financial reporting, audit, and procurement
- Coordinating and preparing the Board's annual budget (currently $80M) and revised budget in compliance with Ministry of Education requirements
- Complete year end work for audit, financial statements and Ministry of Education; working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards
- Oversee procurement and ensure compliance with the Broader Public Sector
- Record and reconcile revenue and ensure compliance with spending eligibility and
- Work collaboratively with payroll and human resources to ensure accurate processing
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, Ministry of Education reporting
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and prepare reporting for financial decision making
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial and payroll policies, procedures, and processes.
- A university degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or related field;
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
- A minimum of five (5) years of finance management experience, preferably within a public sector and unionized environment;
- Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience with accounting processes, procedures, financial reporting, budgeting and financial forecasting;
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting, budgeting and reporting software;
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven accuracy and attention to detail;
- Exemplary leadership skills with a high degree of initiative
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, proficient presentation skills
- Proven track record of ethical standards and integrity
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines with excellent time management skills;
- Ability to maintain tact, discretion and strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to perform well independently and as a member of a team.
- Competitive compensation ($110,319 -$137,900 per annum)
