Human Resources Administrator (6 month contract)
Mission Statement: Homes First Society develops and provides affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness for people with the fewest housing options.
Position type: Contract, Full-time
Reports to: Human Resources Director
Location: Remote
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility
Contract details: starting ASAP, 6-month contract
Salary: $23.50 per hour with 7% in lieu of benefits

We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven HR Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in improving operational efficiency within the HR department by setting up shared folders, building smart workflows, optimizing documentation, and enhancing internal processes.

Job Description:
- Create and manage shared folders and file structures to ensure easy access and document version control. Including creating and updating HR calendars, shared drives, schedules, & file storage.
- Set up and optimize workflows using tools such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, or other automation platforms to enhance team productivity.
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to support HR reporting, data tracking, and process management.
- Support document streamlining by organizing, digitizing, and standardizing templates, checklists, and forms. Including organizing employment and project files.
- Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and provide practical workflow solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data protection policies in the handling and storage of HR records.
- Assisting in the administration of all human resource systems & programs for the HR team
- Assisting with the organization of policies and procedures in a centralized structure
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent time management skills
- Able to work independently and in inter-dependent teams
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in human resources or administration an asset
- Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to prioritize and pivot as needed
Working in an environment where there may be smoke is required.
