HFCRD is seeking a highly motivated educator with visionary leadership to fill the role of Principal at Good Shepherd School. The successful candidate will possess a clear vision for student success, a commitment to collaborative leadership, a good understanding of school improvement and culture, and be able to work in the context of the school community's needs. Position start date August 28, 2024 The Principal is required to provide leadership to Good Shepherd School, located in Peace River, Alberta. Good Shepherd School with approximately 400 students in grades PreK to Grade 6 26 Certified Staff and 24 Support Staff Pre-K, English, and French Immersion Programs The ideal candidate will: Be a practicing Catholic who demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic Faith Can create a culture of high expectations for students, and staff and effectively partner with the administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and the community Can cultivate a climate of mutual respect with students promoting engagement and have a proven ability to build relationships Provide leadership in literacy, assessment, and reporting Demonstrate effective communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills Promote and model lifelong learning for students and staff Effectively plan, organize, and manage the human and physical resources of the school Have effective communication and interpersonal skills The capacity to provide collaborative leadership and engagement of stakeholders Exceptional organizational skills and a high degree of flexibility Proficiency in the use of technology to enhance pedagogy A commitment to student success Demonstrate flexibility and a readiness to take on roles and challenges as they arise in order to meet School and Division goals Knowledge and experience with the cultural background and traditions of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Students The successful candidate Will be eligible to be a teacher in the province of Alberta and preferable experience and understanding in elementary education Will be a member of the school�s administrative team and participate in division training and initiatives. Preference will be given to applicants with a Master�s Degree or who are working towards their Master�s Degree. The position is probationary moving to a continuous term contract(s) upon successful evaluation.
