POSITION SUMMARYThe Product Marketing Manager works closely with clients, Canadian and headquarter teams to ensure the successful positioning, messaging, launch, and promotion of products tailored to the Canadian market. This role conducts market research, defines go-to-market strategies, develops pricing and promotion plans, supports sales enablement, and manages the product lifecycle from a market and customer perspective.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMarket Insight & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct ongoing market research through client visits, exhibitions, VOC, third-party reports, and marketing activities.
- Identify regional industry and technology trends relevant to product positioning.
- Analyze customer purchase behavior and usage preferences in the local market.
- Benchmark competitive products, pricing, and marketing approaches to provide strategic insights.
- Monitor real-time market trends and assist in developing effective market response strategies.
- Develop and execute GTM plans for new products, ensuring cross-functional alignment with sales, marketing and HQ.
- Craft product positioning and messaging that resonates with target customer segments.
- Partner with sales teams to develop tools, training, and resources that support successful product adoption and customer engagement.
- Set clear KPIs for GTM initiatives, analyze performance data, and optimize strategies based on insights and outcomes.
- Develop localized pricing strategies grounded in market dynamics, competitor benchmarks, customer perception, and value delivery.
- Evaluate and refine pricing impact through data insights and feedback from sales and customers.
- Communicate product value propositions clearly to maximize revenue and market competitiveness.
- Referring to the Headquarters’ roadmap, formulate Canadian roadmap (3-month plan) and update periodically, according to the area’s product selection and release plan
- Select new products based on the product positioning, planning and promotions from HQ, taking into consideration the characteristics of the local market and the existing product systems
- Working with the Marketing team, organize new product launch conferences and push and send announcements
- Forecast the first order of a new product, determine inventory level maintenance rules and prepare for the stock, turnover, and inventory clearance
- For discontinued products, transmit the headquarters’ decision to the local teams and get prepared for phasing out of a product; and carry out inventory clearance of the discontinued products
- Organize and facilitate periodic new product training, from planning, designing to facilitation.
- Design promotion strategy, prepare materials and execute the promotional activities
- Clearly summarize the effectiveness of the promotion, highlight key metrics, successes, and areas for improvement, and offer actionable recommendations to optimize future promotional strategies
- Carry out monthly operational POS analysis
- Quarterly and yearly business review
- Minimum 3 years of experiences in Product Marketing Management
- Experience in IP Cameras, recorders, and VMS platforms is required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business or equivalent with comparable work experience
- Experience working and collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Support Resources and customers
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Hands on training skills
- Team player and self-motivated
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required, as the role involves frequent communication with Chinese HQ products team
- Based in Toronto, Ontario
