GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Virtual Care Coordinator provides coordination, technical support and administrative services for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Virtual Care program. The position reports to the Provincial Manager of Community Oncology Program of Saskatchewan. The incumbent facilitates all virtual care activities including training patients and providers, scheduling patient consultations, testing, set up and management of equipment, as well as the provision of technical support for the program and instruction for participants. The incumbent liaises closely with members of the medical team, provincial Virtual Care Coordinators, patients and their families to ensure timely provision of care. The position also encompasses quality assurance data collection by means of data base regulation, and maintenance of ongoing service satisfaction measurement tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course(or) Medical Office Assistant certificate
Experience:
- Requires 1 year of previous experience scheduling in Aria MO.
Skills:
- Aptitude and willingness to work with software programs, external vendors and others as necessary to support virtual care platforms
- Demonstrate competence in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public ,other staff and external health system partners
- Moderate judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to operate all types of office equipment and to obtain knowledge base required for operating and troubleshooting the Virtual Care equipment and technology.
- Ability to operate a computerized data entry system.
- Ability to work effectively with provincial health system partners, vendors and liaise as necessary.
