Job Description: The Mental Health Social Worker will provide client-driven health and social case management assistance to children and youth in the community and those clients attending the Health Centre to achieve safe and reasonable goals that will optimize clients' health and wellness and improve their quality of life. The Mental Health Social Worker works in collaboration with clients, their families and community and government agencies, and works closely with the Mental and Addictions teams. The Mental Health Social Worker also acts as a resource to and supports the development of community and interagency initiatives as they pertain to their mandate. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

- Valid Class 5 driver's license

- Ability to facilitate individual and group counselling with youth and parents
- Willingness to build on community strengths and the resiliency of its families
- Commitment to service excellence, in quality improvement and risk management
- A willingness to integrate programming utilizing a variety of community partners
- Knowledge in mental health treatment resources
- Knowledge in child and youth treatment programming
- Knowledge in human development and family dynamics
- Specific understanding of child and youth mental health issues is beneficial
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
