Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Respiratory Services and under the supervision of the Supervisor-Sleep Laboratories, the incumbent provides polysomnographic testing and scoring in accordance with established policies and procedures as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A graduate of an education program approved by the Saskatchewan College of Respiratory Therapists (SCRT) at a Respiratory Therapy school accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education in Canada, or a program deemed equivalent by the SCRT. Successful completion of a Respiratory Therapist registration examination administered by the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care, or an examination deemed equivalent by the SCRT. A registered member in good standing with the SCRT in accordance with the SCRT regulatory by-laws. Certification in BCLS. Registered as a Polysomnography Technologist by the American Board of Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) or equivalent.

Experience
May require up to three (3) months orientation and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as independently under pressure or in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and implement change.
  • Demonstrated judgement skills, capable of taking initiative and flexible attitude.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and/or training in all aspects of the position duties.
  • Polysomnography/sleep lab experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
