- $38.580 to $50.070 (6 step range)

The RN will serve the medical surveillance unit (MSU), which is a closed observation unit for patients not requiring ICU, but are more acute than a general medicine patient. The MSU provides an increased level of skilled nursing care to those patients requiring frequent monitoring, observation, physiological monitoring, support, and treatment. These skills will include cardiac monitoring and the application of telemetry.
Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Experience
1 year of acute care experience to meet the observation training requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
- Ability to perform the functions of the position, after unit orientation and training for certifiable skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying the nursing process

IT WILL BE DESIRABLE IF YOU POSSESS A KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES, METHODS AND TECHNIQUES INVOLVED IN PERFORMING NURSING SERVICES RELATING TO THE CARE OF PATIENTS ON 5TH MEDICINE. THIS KNOWLEDGE IS COMMONLY OBTAINED THROUGH PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN MEDICAL NURSING. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
