Job Description:
Southeast College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Primary Care Paramedic Instructor for our Year 1 cohort at the Weyburn campus. The program will run every 2nd weekend.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plan/facilitate the program, including providing tutorial, facilitating labs, scenario skill practice, small groups and lectures, evaluating course/program and the result of the teaching process.
- Manage the learning environment in alignment with policies and recognized adult learning protocols.
- Uses a variety of instructional methods, materials, and techniques
Travel Required: NA
Education:
• Completion of an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Program from an approved
School
• Current instructor level status with International Trauma life Support (ITLS)
• Current instructor level status with Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Current provider level certification in Advanced Cardiac life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)
Licenses
• Licensed and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics
(SCoP)
Other Education and Training
- The Working Mind First Responders (TWMFR, formerly R2MR)
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA)
- Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) Defensive Driving Course
- Pediatric Education for the Prehospital Provider (PEPP)
Knowledge and Abilities
- A minimum of two years of recent experience as an ACP
- Understanding of and ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult
- education
- Well-developed interpersonal and oral communications skills
- Demonstrates valuing diversity
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to effectively use computer software and technology to support teaching and learning
