Job Description: This position works as part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team. Under the direction of the Urban or Rural Primary Health Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals. Home base for this position is: 1504 Albert Street.

Licenses
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Education
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Experience
- 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care
- One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of community services, programs, and resources
- Knowledge in the principles of Population Health Promotion
- Working knowledge in health promotion
- Knowledge in population and public health concepts
Other Education & Training
- Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
Other Information
- Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.
- Community based position provides services in clinic within PHC Regina
