QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education   
  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing. 
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is desired. 
  • Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program is required. 
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) 
  • Possession of, and ability to maintain current registration as RN (NP) with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS). 
  • Current BCLS certifications. 
  • Preference will be given to individuals who possess Advanced Wound Care Certificate or greater from an accredited institution. 
Experience 
  •  Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, public health or acute care. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in community needs assessment, community development and health promotion. 
Other 
  •  Possess valid driver’s license and where required have access to a vehicle available for work. 
  • Scheduled hours of work may be reduced (if applicable) during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period
  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community services, programs and resources. 
  • Knowledge of health promotion and population health principles and concepts. 
  • Knowledge of health promotion for wound healing, wound healing techniques. 
  • Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments.

  • Demonstrates responsible decision making ability through the application of critical thinking. 
  • Demonstrates effective and professional verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.

  • Strong assessment and counseling skills.
