- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is desired.
- Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program is required.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Possession of, and ability to maintain current registration as RN (NP) with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
- Current BCLS certifications.
- Preference will be given to individuals who possess Advanced Wound Care Certificate or greater from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, public health or acute care.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in community needs assessment, community development and health promotion.
- Possess valid driver’s license and where required have access to a vehicle available for work.
- Scheduled hours of work may be reduced (if applicable) during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period
- Demonstrates knowledge of community services, programs and resources.
- Knowledge of health promotion and population health principles and concepts.
- Knowledge of health promotion for wound healing, wound healing techniques.
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize the need for holistic care to individuals,
- Demonstrates responsible decision making ability through the application of critical thinking.
- Demonstrates effective and professional verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.
- Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates ability to show initiative and self-direction.
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change.
- Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care.
- Strong assessment and counseling skills.
- Ability to apply methods and principles of nursing process.
