Job Description: The Nurse Navigator is accountable for the system navigation and coordination of breast cancer patients.  The Nurse Navigator is an expert resource and support for patients and is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the nursing component of the Breast Health Program.  The Nurse Navigator will work in collaboration with other health care providers including community partners and agencies to promote care based on best practice and will help develop and foster these relationships.

The Nurse Navigator reports to the Manager of Surgical Pathways and acts in accordance with established SHA policies and the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Standards of Practice.

Experience

  • Requires highly developed clinical assessment skills and critical thinking
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent breast health care experience 
  • Exp. related to leadership, patient education, program development & evaluation.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification.
