Job Description: The Nursing Unit Coordinator is accountable for the coordination and supervision of the care provided to the residents residing in the facility by provision of leadership to the nursing staff. This position will integrate skills and knowledge from nursing theory utilizing proven best clinical practices, clinical problem solving, education and research to provide the staff direction in the provision of direct resident care. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the principles of case management are undertaken to ensure the needs of both the resident and their family are met through a consultative approach. The incumbent will maintain positive relationships with other health professionals, physicians and other related health authority staff to ensure coordination of health and other services to the facility, staff and the residents. In addition, the incumbent will assist the Manager to ensure a positive work for staff and home environment for the resident.

Experience

  • Three (3) years nursing experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
