Job description:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Education:
- Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certitication.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Course credits in community health and public health nursing are required

Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year Public Health Nursing experience is an asset.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Able to assist all levels of clients to take responsibility for their own health
- Uses knowledge of determinants of health in interactions with clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of community development
- Ability to analyze health issues in the context of political & social climate
- Demonstrates application of the nursing process
- Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting workload to accommodate client needs.
- Willingness to adhere to established Public Health policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates skill in group education, individual counselling and advocacy
- Uses critical analysis, reflective practice and assessment.
- Demonstrated knowledge in educational resource development.
- Negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of multiple health promotion strategies
- Health Promotion strategies include building healthy public policy
- High level of accuracy in immunization, and handling specialized equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge in media communication and social marketing.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and the community at large.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of professional conduct and judgement.
- Ability to create a supportive environment
