Job Description: The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model and Primary Health Care. This employee works relatively independently and is expected to make primary decisions based on sound assessments in accordance with The Public Health Act, the policies of the Public Health Nursing program, the SRNA Standards of Practice, the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice, and other relevant legislation. Inherent in this role are knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, prevention, and protection. This employee liases with, and refers to, other health personnel, and other sectors and community groups.

Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year Public Health Nursing experience is an asset.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Course credits in community health and public health nursing are required
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
