Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Safety, the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is accountable for the application and adaptation of the nursing process to help protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The OHN identifies, manages or eliminates risk to employees by developing and coordinating health and safety programming in compliance with legal, industry and leading practice standards. Services are based upon regional and individual needs. The OHN is knowledgeable in occupational health and safety, occupational screening, environmental health, and human relations. The OHN requires excellent communication and administration skills in the provision of occupational health services to a variety of stakeholders.

Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Immunization certificate is an asset
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HCP Certificate (CPR-HCP)
- If no OHN diploma, Occup. Health Cert. or can obtain w/in 3 yrs of employ.
- Occupational Health Nursing certificate is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Diploma: Occupational Health Nursing/ability to complete w/in 3 yrs of employ.

- Knowledge and ability to interpret the Sask. Health Immunization manual (SIM);
- Respiratory N95 Fit Testing
- Ability to apply advanced computer skills
- Can apply nursing research/ best practice to develop/revise policy & procedure
- Knowledge in community health and public health concepts
- Knowledge of communicable diseases, follow up and reporting
- Know of adult ed. methods/population health promotion & apply to HCP programs.
- Demonstrated ability in program development, implementation and evaluation
