Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organization’s missions, goals, values, and strategic plans to promote high quality, safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit orientation, clinical training and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care; participating in committee work as assigned; participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the SHR, including direction and regular communication from the clinical area manager(s).

Experience

  • 5 years recent full-time equivalent experience in the specific clinical area
  • Experience in a clinical leadership role such as charge nurse or equivalent

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Instructor trainer certification preferred eg) FHS, NRP, PEARs, PALS
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
  • Other specialty certificates related to the clinical program area as required
